Miami - The State of Florida was forced to dismiss an assault charge against CharifLaw’s client Wednesday. This, after the court heard argument by Attorney Spencer Charif that the case was filed in violation of the State’s speedy trial rule.
The State of Florida Gang and Narcotics Unit decided recently to dismiss the second degree felony charge of sale of controlled substances against a CharifLaw Client. The police allegedly found the controlled substance in the center console of the Client’s truck pursuant to a search warrant. The maximum sentence for this charge is fifteen years prison.

FORT LAUDERDALE — CharifLaw filed an injunction on behalf of Miami chiropractor Dr. Craig Kaler, against a competitor who began illegally using his business name. The injunction was based on trademark infringement.
Craig H. Kaler DC PA d/b/a Ocean Chiropractic Center of Aventura filed a complaint on April 27 in the Broward Circuit Court against the defendant, located in Plantation, alleging that the company breached was violating its trademark rights.
Dr. Kaler held his competitor responsible for consumer and brand confusion, as well as damage to his long established business goodwill, because the defendant began using essentially the same name as Dr. Kaler's, which had been registered with the State of Florida for years.
The case was resolved without a trial. The other party agreed to change their name.
Broward Circuit Court Case number 17-007969
After a legal battle in the Criminal Division of Miami Dade Circuit Court lasting more than a year, the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office dismissed all charges against CharifLaw's Client. The Client was charged with Grand Theft in the 2nd Degree, and Contracting Without a License. The Client was engaged in a set of contracts involving sub-contractors and qualifiers, yet no illegal conduct had actually occurred.
Through initial investigation, Discovery, Depositions of state witnesses, subpoenas for documents and records, as well as gathering of evidence from other sources, Attorney Charif clearly demonstrated to the State of Florida that, not only had no crime been committed, but that the alleged victims were lying to law enforcement.
In a confidential settlement agreement, a CharifLaw Client settled all false imprisonment claims in exchange for $360,000.
The trucking company responsible paid $750,000 to resolve claims of negligence in the rollover crash that injured Chariflaw's client. More information available upon request.
